Excellence Awards

EXCELLENCE IN LOGGING

This year, the Excellence in Logging Award went to Elenz, Inc. In attendance at the convention was Michael Elenz, Edward Elenz, Timothy Elenz, Joan Elenz and Dave & Danielle Oliver. Members of The Michigan Association of Timbermen since 1983 and members of MAT-SIF, they also show loyalty to MAT by utilizing Forest Insurance Center Agency as well as the Timbermen’s new Employee Benefits Division. Elenz, Inc. was nominated by Keith Martell. Comments by Keith: The Elenz have consistently produced outstanding quality work in the hardwood thinnings that are marked. The standard of care is excellent and their woods work done in a safe, workmanlike manner. Landowners that I bring to them are always impressed with their work and this makes the job of “selling” good forestry to others much easier. 

 

 

EXCELLENCE IN TRUCKING

Bruce Plourde, of Bruce Plourde Trucking along with his wife Lynn have been awarded the Excellence in Trucking.  Bruce is a member of The Michigan Association of Timbermen and further shows his support by utilizing Mauck Insurance Agency for his insurance.  Bruce was nominated by Bruce Hamill, of Hamill Trucking, who was pleased to nominate Bruce Plourde Trucking. 

 

EXCELLENCE IN MANUFACTURING

This award goes to Quality Hardwoods, Inc. A member since 1973, and a member of MAT-SIF they also show loyalty to MAT by utilizing Forest Insurance Center Agency. In attendance, Luke Brogger. Nominated by Alvin Rush and Jeff Steinkraus. Jeff Steinkraus comments: Quality Hardwoods has been an excellent company to do business with. They have quality foresters working with them and have excellent cutting crews. They are careful to minimize damage to residual trees. They are an excellent choice for the Excellence in Manufacturing Award.
